Vygotsky's Theory

This is a video demonstrating Vygotsky's theory of cognitive development through social interaction and children being guided by a teacher or adult. Charlie's mom guides him in picking out the colored toys and counting them and eventually Charlie begins to do it on his own. This really put the theory in perspective for me. It's easier to see what Vygotsky means by guiding children to the answer.

    Ha! Liz, I believe that your video is an excellent representation of how an adult can help children stretch their thinking and form understanding.
